This series come from my will to learn how to create clay sculpture and this isn't so easy : we are limited because there is a lot of constraints (this let me think little bit to the "Oulipo" and its famous French great writer, Georges Pérec, when for example he have written the book, "La Disparition"(329 pages), without the letter E.
The clay can only be cast in a porous material ; the best we know is the plaster cast, and at least, this is not the most elastic material that we have, that explain the difficulty to create the original piece, always thinking on how the piece will be removed of the mould ; this exercise is a benefit for the creation, because it needs a lot of imagination to get trough...
When the clay cast is removed of the mould, and not completely dry, we can work on it in the details and the undercuts can be made ; This way each piece is unique.
After being slowly dried a very long time, the pieces are burnt to 1.200° Celsius, about half of the pieces come out without deformation.
