Material : Tabernacle in walnut wood - Altar's top in oak wood.
Conception and realization of a tabernacle for the chapel of the Yquem's castle.
Sir Count Alexandre de Lur Saluces Have entrusted me to study and create a
tabernacle in his castle's chapel ;the restoring of the chapel's frescoes were just ended.
My reflection started with the organization with a backside decorated panel to receive on it the big painting with Saint Vincent ; in the and in the middle would come the volume of the tabernacle.
I have presented three drawings :
1) Rich Baroque style
2) Poor Baroque style
3) XVIII th. century style - this project have been chosen.
I had great pleasure in shaping these sculptures, all dedicated to their receptacle. The walnut wood I chose was exceptional, and its plasticity as well as its grain worked together to create a certain harmony.
